Re: Desktop Info App With Html Support (gtk-desktop-info)

I justed learned about this app from Bruce and have not done any tweaking (yet).
Just like to inform that it also runs nicely on Xubuntu Jaunty. If I am correct this has not yet been posted and/or confirmed.

Attached a screenshot of the app running in Xubuntu Jaunty that I have installed on an old PIII (933 MHz) with 256 Mb memory. Amazing how little resources it uses.

    Compliments to the dev.

Hi useResa, Fancy meeting you in a place like this.

WoW! Nice! Running on Xubu 9.04 - YES! YES! YES!
    Time to tweak it.

    hope you like it

note: I didn't have time to adapt the translation files but that will be corrected later on

Are you running Compiz Paul? I am wondering if the outlining is in relation to shadows settings in the windows decorations...

If it is you can omit this app from the decoration using it's class name

    Edit:

Just realised there is already a mention of all of this in the pdf guide. You can open the guide by running:

    Code:
    gtk-desktop-info.guide
Then look for the "Gotchas" section towards the end...

Forget I mentioned that K. The accented characters are working well in your coding.

    I see Wednesday as Miércoles

It was where I changed "next few days" to "los próximos días" - DUH!

So I did what I "should have done" (it's been a LONG time for me and HTML) and changed it using the HTML Number:

    los pr&+#+243+;ximos d&+#+237+;as

Oh that was fun, the forum translated it correctly as los próximos días, remove the + signs and you get the picture.

Sorry to have created an - OH NO!

I know. First I need to read the guide though. But I'll get to it and let you know what I achieved.

You'll need to look into the css option too, it will be the css settings that are causing the spacing. The css setting was geared up for the original template.

The css that is being used for your current settings is /usr/share/gtk-desktop-info/style/plugin_forecast_default.css

If you run the script in the terminal using the --verbose option it will output all of the html into the terminal window, so you get a good idea of the complete html output including the head of the document. Something you can copy and paste into a text doc, and open in a browser to play about with

Re: Desktop Info App With Html Support (gtk-desktop-info)

    kaivalagi,

I could be wrong but can it be that there isn't a translation for sunny in the dutch translation file?

if it isn't there the translation for sunny => Zonnig

I also found an error on the windspeed
I find the windspeed Rustig not the correct speed I rather see there 0 kpu (in dutch)
also the winddirection with status CALM doesn't seem to be correct to me

    Paul
